Satisfactory attendance, participation and uniform in core Year 9 and 10 Physical Education.



Physical Education A101:
This course is a mixture of practical and theory. Students will be expected to participate in a variety of physical activities where they will learn about the factors that influence participation in sport and physical activity, developing interpersonal skills and the practical application of skills in the sport of volleyball. Students will also learn about the function of the body as it relates to the sport of basketball, which includes developing an understanding of anatomy, biomechanics and physiology. Students who select this course will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to work hard in practical as well as written components.

Please Note: You may only choose one level 1 PE course (either PEDA101 or PEDS101). 



Course Overview

Term 1
Participation in a variety of physical activities and explain the factors that influence participation.
Assisting others to take part in physical activity.

Term 2
Describe and explain concepts related to anatomy, biomechanics and physiology as it relates to the sport of basketball.

Term 3
Volleyball skill application.
Demonstrate self management skills and describe the effects it has on participation in physical activity.

Term 4
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and explain the effect it has on others.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

There are no out of school requirements for this course. However, students should realise that this is a 4 hours-a-week option subject and all those selecting it will also participate in an additional 1 hour each week of Year 11 Core Physical Education.
