Physical Education and Health
The philosophy of Junior Physical Education is to give students a wide range of experiences and knowledge to enable them to develop lifelong intrinsic fitness habits for the benefit of their future health and well-being. Practical activities are in five-week blocks: Athletics, Cross Country, Running for Fitness, Invasion Games, Movement/Dance, Badminton, Orienteering, Ki o Rahi, Striking/bat sports and AFL. KEY COMPETENCIES: Self-Management and Participating and Contributing, as well as SKILLS and FITNESS are the focus throughout the year. Health Studies aims to increase knowledge and understanding of wellbeing. Students are able to understand the importance resiliency and other factors play in a long and healthy lifestyle.
