Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr M. Cameron.

This course is recommended for all students interested in taking music, as it develops a
foundation of skills for all styles of music, including
● Playing instruments (particularly keyboard and guitar)
● Playing music in groups
● Learning about the history of popular music
● Learning basic music theory skills



Course Overview

Term 1
Basic Musical Skills (learning basics of keyboard, guitar, listening skills, and foundational musical knowledge like chords and beats)
Reading Music (learning how music notation works and playing songs on the keyboard)


Term 2
Retro Music (learning about music history from the 1950s to the 1990s, and recreating / reworking retro music using music software)
Group Performances (learning how to play music in a group)

Term 3
(this is a half year course)
