Year 9 TECHNOLOGY - Industrial: Drawing and Design

Recommended Prior LearningYou will need a strong interest in designing and drawing by hand. You will enjoy being creative and wanting to develop your create thinking and design skills. (NB: There is NO computer use in this course).
Do you like drawing and designing - dream one day of becoming someone who design products ?
Come and join the class and learn how to sketch by hand in 2D and 3D and learn how to develop your creative thinking skills.
Then use your new drawing skills and creativity to design a new LEGO CHARACTER for your chosen theme, alongside some accessories for your new character.
You will work in the Tawa College Graphics Design Room. Please note there is NO computer use in this course.
You will learn:
· how to draw in 2D and 3D by hand
· how to create and communicate design ideas through visual communication techniques
· how to use colour pencils effectively to show materials and tonal shading

Students will be required to purchase 2 A3 Visual Dairies in LANDSCAPE format: 1 for project work and 1 for drawing lessons
Students will also need a set of 24 colour pencils, a H, HB and a 2B pencil, an eraser and a glue stick.
