Course Description

9 Dance

This course is designed for anyone who enjoys dance - no prior experience is needed, just a willingness to participate. Students will experience a broad range of dance styles which may include Jazz, Disco, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. Students will look at how dance is used for different purposes. Choreography is an important part of the course and students will explore movement using different devices to compose dance. 

Students who take Dance develop skills in creative processes, evaluating and communicating ideas and working collaboratively with others.

Participation in dance performances as a positive collaboration, before a live public audience, is a requirement of the programme.

					Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
										

Students are expected to wear PE gear or other comfortable dance clothing. This can include, trackpants, shorts, leggings etc.

'Tawa Dance' t-shirts and hoodies may be available for purchase throughout the year.
