Course Description

Dance
Students will experience a broad range of dance styles. Styles include: Jazz, Disco, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. Students will look at how dance is used for different purposes. Choreography is an important part of the course and students will explore movement using different devices to compose dance. 

Participation in dance performances as a positive collaboratiion, before a live public audience, is a requirement of the programme. 

Students will develop skills in creative processes, evaluating and communicating ideas and working collaborating with others.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Students are expected to wear PE gear or other comfortable dance clothing. This can include, trackpants, shorts, leggings etc.

'Tawa Dance' t-shirts and hoodies are available for purchase throughout the year
Jazz shoes are also available for purchase as stages throughout the year
