Year 10 Media Studies introduces students to media literacy. From critical thinking and analysis, to creative productions, to engaging genre studies, Media Studies uses the Media Studies NCEA learning objectives (Media in Society, Media Productions, and Reading Media Texts) to build student knowledge and introduce them to NCEA Media Studies in a fun and engaging way.
This will be coming soon- we just have to confirm the year plan, but over the year, you will:
Learn about the media and how to deconstruct texts
Learn about media audiences
Study a trend in the media, such as fake news or memes
Plan and create an animation
Plan and create a media item such as a news story or advertisement
Complete a genre study (on films or TV)
An 8GB SD card is recommended for student production.
People who love media such as films, gaming, youtube, TV, and/or making films would love this subject, but all people are welcome.
