Level 1 Physical Education 101

Course Description

Physical Education 101:

This course offers the topics of Active Participation, Function of the Human Body, Quality Movement, Social Influences on Physical Activity, Interpersonal Skills, Performance Strategies, Assisting others and Self Management in Physical Activity.  

This course is aimed at students interested in the practical and theory application of physical activity and sport.    

It will include a New Curriculum Internal Assessment worth 5 credits. AS 1.1 92016 Apply movement strategies in an applied setting. This could be learned through contexts such as Ki o Rahi or Volleyball.  

This course is a mixture of practical and theory components. This course is designed for students who enjoy being physically active in a classroom environment. Students will learn lifelong skills and knowledge to apply to lifelong habits of being physically active.

Quality Movement in a Sporting Context - anatomy, biomechanics and physiology

Term 3
Kotahitanga and Interpersonal skills.
Leadership and assistig others.

Term 4
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and explain the effect it has on others.
