Mathematics with Algebra 201


This course aims to consolidate and extend students’ mathematical skills, as well as further develop logical thinking and problem solving techniques. It has a strong algebra base as it focuses on building the skills necessary for all Level 3 Mathematics Courses.
This course is designed around the Level 2 Achievement Standards and Level 7 of the New Zealand Mathematics Curriculum.



Recommended Prior Learning

Compulsory: 1.1, 1.3, 1.10, 1.12 with a minimum of 2 Merits and a satisfactory grade in the compulsory Year 11 Algebra Test.
Students who do not meet these criteria may be placed in this subject by HOD discretion.

MATE201 is a required course for anyone intending to study University courses requiring Mathematics and/or Statistics.
