Ko te manu e kai ana i te miro nōnā te ngahere, ko te manu e kai ana i te mātauranga nōnā te ao.

The forest belongs to the bird who feasts on the miro berry, the world belongs to the bird who feasts on education

Students who take Kaupapa 101 will learn a range of key customary concepts. This subject will have some Te reo Māori in it, but has a strong tikanga focus. 

Some kaupapa covered include:

  • Powhiri protocol
  • Ngā Atua 
  • Hauora Māori
  • Māori History
