English Language Learners 301
This course offers a programme which provides Year 12 and 13 English Language Learners with an opportunity to improve their skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Year 11 English Language Learners may also be accepted for this course if they are at an appropriate level. There is an emphasis on teaching reading strategies that can be applied to mainstream classes, as well as methods for vocabulary development. Students are also supported in developing their writing, with a focus on different text types, such as information texts, recounts and persuasive texts. There is a diagnostic test at the start and end of the year.
