NCEA Level 2 Dance 201
Teacher in Charge: L. McElwee
This course covers dance choreography, performance and analysis with a focus on group choreography and performance. Students explore solo and group choreographic techniques, perform in a repertoire of dances of a single style and learn an ethnic dance style. External standards require students to critically analyse a professional dance work and provide their interpretation of this.
Dance is a University approved subject. Skills gained in dance such as creative processes, analysis, innovation, communicating ideas, and collaborating effectively with others can be applied to a wide variety of occupations.
Participation in public performances is a compulsory aspect of this course.
