Biology 201
This is a foundation Biology course, introducing basic biological principles in all of the main branches of biology. This course covers ecology, cell biology, genetics (inheritance and how DNA works) and evolution. This course provides an introduction to any future study of biology. Scientific communication, and the understanding and application of biological processes are important aspects of the course as well as practical investigation and field work skills.


Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

The SciPad workbook is used for classwork and homework ($25).
One day of field work

Recommended Prior Learning

14 credits in Level 1 Science with at least 8 being from external standards, preferably including Achievement Standard 1.9 (Genetics and Variation)

You will need to have a conversation with the TIC of Biology if these criteria have not been met.
