Course Description

Calculus 301
This course aims to consolidate and extend students’ mathematical skills, as well as further develop logical thinking and problem solving techniques. This course has a strong Algebra base and students will need to be competent in manipulation skills to do this course. This course is designed around the Level 3 Achievement Standards and Level 8 of the New Zealand Mathematics Curriculum. It is intended that students will only take MAC301 if also taking MAS301.

Compulsory: Merit in 2.6, 2.7 and 17 credits from Level 2 Mathematics
Corequisite: MAS301
It is recommended that students take MATE311/301 unless they are taking MAS301 as well
Students who do not meet these criteria may be placed in this subject by HOD discretion.

There is a recommended set of workbooks for purchase through the school. The cost of these will be advised at the beginning of the year.
