FRE201 Year 12 French - NCEA L2
The Year 12 programme is a continuation of Year 11 French. The class will be mostly taught in French with a focus on communication in a natural way. The themes studied are relevant to young people . They include friends and friendship, future plans, French speaking countries, health, Tintin comics and cartoons, French cinema and literature. The French course promotes language as a way of broadening horizons and developing insight into another culture.
The internal assessments include a writing portfolio and a spoken presentation. Students may be given the opportunity to complete the Presentation standard as well. Reading and Listening skills will be assessed during the external exam period at the end of the year.
Students studying FRE201 will be set-up for success in French in subsequent years at NCEA L3 and University level.
