Year 9 TECHNOLOGY - Textiles - Fabric Manipulation
Course Description

This course is a textiles course that explores fabric manipulation.

(Please note this is different course to the Textiles - Applied Design course.)
This course is all about making textile items (not clothes). You will learn how to design and make textile items by manipulating fabrics.
Students can select this course and the Textiles - Applied design course if they wish to spend a full year working with fabrics.
You will learn:
- how to use the design process to create original design ideas
- to explore different materials and how to work with them
- to use the sewing machine
- how to sew by hand
- about different types of fabrics
Recommended Prior Learning
You will need an interest in designing, being creative and in working with fabrics sewing both by hand and machine.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Students will be required to purchase the items on the school stationery list, ready for the start of the course.
