10POT

10 Pottery Designer - Maker (Technology)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs T. Tippett.

This is a technology course, based on learning to design and create products using clay. Clay is a soft material that can be shaped by hand, then fired to make it hard. It is then glazed to decorate it. Pottery is a career field for artsians, which is also known as ceramics. In our highly manufactured world we are beginning to re-value the beauty in the handmade, and having products that are more unique in our homes, rather than mass manufactured. This course provides a creative outlet to understand and work with this ancient material.
